Big Rock Archaeology Diorama
In the fall of 1997, the Dorsey Museum in cooperation with the Colorado Archaeological Society, University of Northern Colorado and the National Park Service excavated a Native American rock shelter site. Carbon 14 dating showed the site was occupied seasonally for almost 2,000 years. This diorama depicts a campsite from the Archaic Period. There is a timeline of artifacts and a hands on touch table for children.
