Employment & Volunteer Opportunities

During the summer season, the YMCA hires two seasonal employees to work at the museum. They arrive before Memorial Day and stay through Labor Day.

Employees greet guests and work as docents. They assist in collections management and keep the museum clean and orderly. Basic word processing skills are valuable. Some light yard work and maintenance activities are also part of the job. No previous museum experience is required, but strong people skills are a must.

Summer employees work forty hours per week. They receive room and board plus a small salary.

Between Labor Day and Memorial Day, the museum needs volunteers. They are required to work twenty-four hours per week. Off-season workers receive room and board. Volunteers should plan on staying one month or longer.

Local volunteers living in nearby communities are welcome year-round. Some of our volunteers work as little as two days per month.

To learn more about volunteer or employment opportunities, contact the museum director. To find out more about working at the YMCA of the Rockies as a seasonal employee or volunteer, visit the Y's website.
